Bayern Munich U19s vs Manchester United U19s LIVE team news from UEFA Youth League clash

In a pre-cursor to the night's main event at the Allianz Arena, Manchester United's Under-19s will take on their Bayern Munich counterparts on Wednesday afternoon.

United's youngsters have qualified for the prestigious competition as Erik ten Hag's senior side secured a return to Champions League football last season. The Youth League's groups and fixtures mirror the Champions League's so Travis Binnion's side will open the campaign against the German giants as well.

The Under-19s will also face FC Copenhagen and Galatasaray's youngsters home and away in Group A, which has already gotten underway with the Danes picking up a 5-1 win earlier today to jump to the top of the table.

United have a 40-man squad for the competition which could see the likes of Isak Hansen-Aaroen, Willy Kambwala and the Fletcher brothers play. Dan Gore and Omari Forson are eligible to play but have been selected in the senior squad while Kobbie Mainoo remains injured.

Under-19 boss Travis Binnion is expecting a challenging group.

“It’s an interesting group, the U19s,” Binnion told United's website.

“It brings together four of our ages groups, from your Under-17s through to a couple of over-age players, so it’s a different team that comes together for these six games.

“We’ve got a real varied group, and a really exciting and challenging one. All the games will be tough."
