Bayern Munich could face serious punishment after substitution chaos during win vs Freiburg
Bayern Munich defeated Freiburg 4-1 in their Bundesliga clash on Saturday afternoon.
After a goalless first-half, the game burst into life in the second 45 minutes.
Leon Goretzka opened the scoring in the 58th minute, only for Freiburg to level proceedings five minutes later through Nils Petersen.
But the league leaders ran away with it in the final 20 minutes, with Serge Gnabry, Kingsley Coman and Marcel Sabitzer on the scoresheet.
There was a bizarre moment towards the end of the game as Bayern briefly played with 12 men.
In the 85th minute, Julian Nagelsmann sent on Niklas Sule and Marcel Sabitzer to see out the game.
Corentin Tolisso and Coman were the two men that were meant to make way. But only Tolisso left the pitch, while Coman stayed on.
Play resumed and went on for roughly 10 seconds before Freiburg’s bench alerted the referee and the game was stopped.
There was a considerable delay before the issue was resolved. Watch the moment below…
