Barry Bannan just scored a truly outrageous goal for Sheffield Wednesday from miles out

Barry Bannan has scored an outrageous goal for Sheffield Wednesday at MK Dons.

The former Aston Villa midfielder is no stranger to scoring in spectacular fashion, but the latest screamer from his coveted collection might just be the most jaw-dropping of the bunch.

And it just happened to crown a lightning-fast start for the Owls in their League One clash having already raced into a 2-0 lead through Saido Berahino and Lee Gregory after just 20 minutes.

However, you’d be forgiven for thinking that Bannan’s strike to make it 3-0 on the half-hour mark should have counted as two, three or even four goals such was the lucrative nature of it.

With Bailey Peacock-Farrell having lumped the ball forward for the visitors, the ball fell into the path of Bannan when the MK Dons back-line made an average attempt at a clearance.

And with the Sheffield Wednesday star having noticed that home goalkeeper Jamie Cumming stood off his line, he saw his name up in lights and decided to go for the spectacular.

The result? One of the best goals you’ll see in English football all season, so be sure to check out the scintillating moment that Bannan thought: ‘Av it,’ and found the back of the net down below:

OUT OF NOTHING AND OUT OF THIS WORLD
