Barnsley v Reading: Latest team news, score prediction, Is there a live stream? What time is kick-off?

This weekend’s clash at Oakwell between Barnsley and Reading has the makings of a real relegation six-pointer in the Championship.

22nd meets 21st on Saturday at 3pm as the Tykes host a Royals side who went into the international break on the back of a positive result with a 1-0 win over promotion-chasing Blackburn Rovers.

That result took Paul Ince’s side five points clear of Barnsley, who went down 2-0 to their Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United last time out, but they can close that gap to two points to today’s opposition with a victory.

Latest team news

The only new absentee for Barnsley is that of defender Aapo Halme, who has picked up an injury in the international break and will be absent from Poya Asbaghi’s squad.

Strikers Victor Adeboyejo and club captain Cauley Woodrow remain on the comeback trail from injuries, but today will come too soon for their returns to action.

As for Reading, they have been struck down with some cruel blows following their victory over Blackburn two weeks ago.

Andy Rinomhota has had his season cut short due to a knee injury, and it’s likely that Yakou Meite’s cameo against Rovers could be his last of the season after picking up an ankle problem.

Terell Thomas though signed as a free agent last week and the centre-back could be included in the squad for the first time, with Ince struggling with squad depth in defence.

Is there a live stream?

As a 3pm kick off in the United Kingdom, this match isn’t available to stream on British shores, but audio passes can be purchased from either club’s website, whilst overseas fans can watch the action for £10.

Score prediction

Barnsley have really turned a corner in general since adding Domingos Quina and Amine Bassi late on in the January transfer
