Barnsley v Bristol City: Latest team news, score prediction, Is there a live stream? What time is kick-off?

Barnsley and Bristol City face off in midweek, with both teams hoping to claim victory for two very different reasons.

The Tykes are battling against the drop this year and need as many points as possible to ensure they don’t drop down to League One.

The club have started to look brighter and pick up more wins but they will need to keep winning if they want to have any hope of jumping above Reading in the rankings.

As for City, it doesn’t look like there will be too much left for them to play for. They seem safe enough in terms of relegation but too far back to think about mounting a push for a play-off spot. The hope for Nigel Pearson’s side then will be to finish as high up as possible, try and break into the top half and build some momentum up for next season.

Both sides then will be eager to seal a win.

Latest team news

Both sides have injuries in their ranks but nothing that should be too major or affect either side’s recent starting lineups too much.

Barnsley have been without Cauley Woodrow since December and he last played (and scored) in a 2-1 defeat to PNE before Christmas. Since then though, Carlton Morris has featured in attack and has worked hard and scored goals. It means that even if Woodrow was fit, he would likely face a battle to get back into the starting team at Oakwell.

As for Bristol City, their biggest miss will arguably be Callum O’Dowda, who has played in 20 league games for the Robins so far this year but hasn’t featured for them since early February. It looks like he will remain out and they will have to make do without the 26-year-old.
