Barcelona 'tell' Man City they will bid for Bernardo Silva and more transfer rumours

Barcelona have told Manchester City that they will bid for Bernardo Silva this summer, according to a new report.

Since his arrival at City in 2017, the Portuguese fan favourite has transformed into one of the finest midfielders in Europe. After winning multiple individual and collective accolades - including four Premier League titles - there is no surprise some of the world's best teams are interested in his services.

Despite having been keen to leave City for the past two summers, Bernardo has played a vital role in recent success. Last season, he was voted by his fellow professionals in the PFA Team of the Year and won three successive Etihad Player of the Month awards.

However, links with Barcelona do not seem to be dissipating and a report by CBS Sport s says the Catalan giants have told City that they will bid for Silva before the transfer window shuts - with the player still open to the move.

As the transfer deadline ticks closer and closer, many Blues supporters are fretting about this particular deal and Pep Guardiola gave no guarantees in his pre-match press conference earlier this week.

Elsewhere, City are still progressing in their efforts to sign Anderlecht left-back, Sergio Gomez. According to Sky Sports, the club see the versatile defender as a development talent for the future and any potential deal would not impact their pursuit of an elite left-back.
