Barcelona's potential XI for 2022/23 as they eye triple swoop

Barcelona are reportedly keen to mine the free transfer market ahead of the 2022/23 season.

Having used the Bosman ruling to scoop Eric Garcia, Memphis Depay and Sergio Aguero last summer, the Catalan giants seem poised to use similar tactics once again amidst their financial crisis.

While the Blaugrana are starting to show the sort of progress and excitement that has long been touted for the Xavi era at Camp Nou, it can’t be forgotten that the club is still limping through a difficult period.

However, it would appear as though Barcelona are set to secure a stunning triple swoop before the summer window even peers over the horizon and all without spending a single penny in transfer fees.

That’s because Marca have remarkably reported that Barcelona “have already virtually closed three signings,” in what would prove a massive boost to their hopes of challenging for the La Liga title once again.

The report goes on to claim that Chelsea‘s Andreas Christensen and AC Milan’s Franck Kessie have both agreed to join the European powerhouse when their current contracts expire on June 30.

Then, just to make things even better, it’s claimed that a “deal is almost finalised” to bring Ajax’s Noussair Mazraoui through the door, too, with just a few minor negotiations required before total agreement.

Now, it’s fair to say that’s an impressive trio of signings and it could well spur on Xavi’s project at Barcelona, which is already accelerating to a point where there is now light at the end of the tunnel.
