Banned Bok Bok winger focusing on comeback: 'Get back I will'
Banned Springbok winger Aphiwe Dyantyi has vowed to make a return to the sport in 2023.
Dyantyi, who had a dazzling debut year as a Springbok in 2018, tested positive for three banned substances in 2019 and was subsequently handed a four-year ban from rugby.
His suspension runs until 12 August 2023 but the 27-year-old is confident that he'll make a return to the top of the game.
"This year marks three years out of the game," Dyantyi wrote on social media on Monday. "A very challenging three years coupled with tears, rebuilding, love and laughter.
"A trial and error period in my life, but two business projects down the line, I wouldn't change anything about my life journey. The support has been both heartwarming and humbling (Thank You).
"I find myself in a privileged position of building beyond rugby and focusing on getting back on the field, and get back I will ...
"I'm only getting started ..."
Dyanti, who first made a named for himself with the Lions in Super Rugby, played 13 Tests for the Springboks between 2018 and 2019.
The 2018 World Rugby Breakthrough Player of the Year boasts six Test tries.
