Ballymena Utd January signing Kym Nelson confident he'll "flourish" under David Jeffrey

Ballymena United new boy Kym Nelson believes he’s at the right club to “flourish” and make up for lost time in the Danske Bank Premiership.

Nelson, who joined David Jeffrey’s Sky Blues from Ards during the January transfer window, made his Irish League breakthrough as a teenager at Glentoran.

“I’ll never forget my debut against Linfield in front of the Sky cameras and I can remember it very clearly,” said Nelson.

“Eddie Patterson was the Glentoran manager at the time and he told me to report to the ground. To be honest, I didn’t think I’d be involved.

“But he brought me into his office, sat me down and then said ‘I’m going to start you’. I think I turned sheet white when I heard those words!
