Bakery involved in Catherine Tyldesley 'cakegate' row makes cheeky April Fool’s jibe at influencers
The bakery involved in a social media row with former Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley last year has posted a tongue-in-cheek April Fool’s Day prank aimed at influencers asking for free food.
Three Little Birds Bakery, based in Yorkshire, made headlines last summer after owner Rebecca Severs shared a screenshot from a PR company asking them to make 100 cupcakes for a then-unidentified 'well-known' celebrity’s birthday party in exchange for social media exposure.
After the screenshot went viral, Catherine Tyldesley was identified to have been the celebrity in question. The actress later said that she had 'no idea' that the PR had been in touch with the bakery about the request.

The top tier option, in exchange for a mere hundred million followers, included an “elaborate hand painted wedding cake with “surprise” filling of a year’s worth of bills for council tax and water for one of our bakers (you choose which one!)”.
The prank led to a number of comments praising the ‘hilarious’ post, including one person who said: “brilliant…. I’m on the floor.” Another person wrote: “The "1 flamingo" made me laugh out loud.”
One other person wrote: “I had to look twice! Then I remembered the date!” Another
