'Bad' - Sky Sports man now claims Leeds star may not play again this season after injury update

Pundit Gabby Agbonlahor has made an injury claim on Leeds United forward Patrick Bamford, Football Insider report.

Jesse Marsch has been able to name Bamford in all four of his matchday squads as Leeds boss, with the forward starting in back-to-back wins over Norwich City and Wolves this month.

However, the 28-year-old had to be replaced in the first half at Molineux last Friday with what appeared to be a reoccurrence of a foot injury.

Bamford was visibly upset on the bench, although Marsch claimed after the win that he believes the forward’s latest issue isn’t too serious.

Agbonlahor, who contributes for Sky Sports, had this to say to Football Insider on Bamford following that update, believing it could be best for the forward to rest over the coming months and make a full return in pre-season.

“I did feel sorry for Bamford.

“Sometimes when you get these continuous injuries, it’s a bad sign.

“Does Bamford just need to be rested and brought back in pre-season to go again for next season? There are about two months left of the season, is there any need to rush him back?

“He didn’t look like himself from the first minute of the game, never mind from when he got injured.

“He needs to be rested and get him back to the right fitness and not rush him.”

You can see where Agbonlahor is coming from as Bamford has missed the majority of the campaign through multiple injuries, so there is always the risk that he could suffer a serious setback if pushed too far.

However, Leeds find themselves in a relegation battle at this moment in time, and it’s clear to see that Marsch believes he needs Bamford on the pitch to give his side the best possible chance of survival.

Hopefully, Bamford’s latest issue doesn’t turn out to be too serious
