Premier League title race: Man City maintain slender lead

Chelsea recorded their fourth consecutive Premier League win on Thursday night with a 3-1 victory over bottom club Norwich City at Carrow Road.

The victory allowed the Blues to tighten their grip on third place, although they are still well out of the title race.

But Thomas Tuchel was without five of his first-team players for the midweek fixture, while another was added to the list after being withdrawn during the game.

Three of the six in question are suffering from different illnesses, while the other half are dealing with injuries, although Tuchel will hope that not all of them will be out of action for Sunday’s visit of Newcastle.

Captain Cesar Azpilicueta was withdrawn at half-time during Chelsea ’s victory at Norwich on Thursday due to illness.

The Spaniard had been struggling ahead of the game and was eventually hauled off after 45 minutes, but it is hoped that he will make a full recovery in time for Sunday’s game with Newcastle.
