Award-winning Burnage Academy for Boys is holding an autumn open evening

Burnage Academy for Boys continues to stand out as one of the country’s leading schools.

Families are warmly invited to see for themselves at the open evening on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 4pm to 7pm, when the whole school will be open to explore.

Visitors can tour the state-of-the-art facilities, which include science labs, technology workshops, a library, a climbing wall, 3G sports pitches, and brand-new outdoor cricket lanes.

Student guides will give an honest view of life at Burnage. At the same time, staff will be available to explain how the curriculum, extra-curricular opportunities and pastoral support ensure that every boy thrives.

Whether in the classroom or exploring the wider world, Burnage is committed to giving boys a platform for success.

In 2024, Ofsted reaffirmed Burnage as Outstanding, praising boys’ progress and outcomes that consistently place the school amongst the top 1% of schools nationally.

Later that year, the Manchester school was named Secondary School of the Year at the national Tes Awards, recognition of the collective hard work of staff, pupils and families.

While the award does not define Burnage, it reflects the values of resilience, independence, and care that underpin everything the school does.
