"Available for transfer" – Insider drops exit claim on Newcastle high-earner "Howe doesn't rate"

Miguel Almiron is available to leave Newcastle this summer, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The 41-cap Paraguay ace moved to the Premier League more than three years ago but has failed to live up to the £20m the Magpies paid Atlanta back in 2019.

At the time of Almiron’s arrival, he was Newcastle’s record transfer and big things were expected when he made the switch to St James’ Park.

Almiron had been directly involved in 42 goals in 62 league appearances and had featured in team of the year in two MLS seasons on the bounce.

But he simply hasn’t been able to get close to producing that type of form for the Toon Army, with his attacking output extremely underwhelming in a Newcastle shirt.

In 115 games for the Magpies, Almiron has scored just 13 goals and laid on only five assists, with his form this season extremely disappointing.

Almiron, who’s Newcastle’s highest-earner, has failed to contribute to a single goal in any competition, which has led to him spending the majority of the campaign as a substitute.

Therefore, Jones reckons that the winger is up for sale this summer, especially with just two years left on his contract.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “Almiron is available for transfer. The simplest way to state it is that Howe doesn’t rate him and doesn’t think he can fit in with the way he’s heading.”
