Austrian GP: Max Verstappen eager to bounce back after Silverstone disappointment

Reigning Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen says he’s eager to bounce back and take advantage of the extra points on offer at the latest Sprint weekend in Austria.

In previous years, Red Bull have gone well in Spielberg, too, and Max will naturally be hoping for similar levels of success here this weekend as he bids to bounce back from a difficult race at Silverstone that was hampered by damage to his car where he ran over some debris.

He finished seventh in the end, with title rivals Sergio Perez and Charles Leclerc finishing second and fourth respectively, and so he’ll look to try and regain some of the points he lost this weekend, with extra on offer as Sprint returns for the second time this year:

“I have a lot of good memories from racing in Austria so I’m really excited to go back. It’s a really interesting track with not many corners, it’s a lot of fun to drive.

“The atmosphere is always great, I love seeing the fans in the grandstands and I think people in general just really enjoy the weekend there. Silverstone was a tough race but we look ahead and hopefully we can have a good weekend and really maximise the points available over a Sprint weekend at our home circuit. I expect it to be a good weekend for us as a Team.”

This could dramatically change the picture of the championship depending on what unfolds, then, but of course time will
