Australia vs West Indies 2nd Test Day 2 Live Score Updates

Australia vs West Indies 2nd Test Day 2 Live Score Updates: Australia look to strengthen their grip on the game on Day 2 of the second Test match against West Indies. At stumps, West Indies were 266 for the loss of eight wickets thanks to gritty knocks from  Kavem Hodge and Joshua Da Silva. The duo put on 149 runs for the sixth wicket after the visitors were struggling at 64-5. Mitchell Starc was the top performer for Australia with four wickets while Josh Hazlewood took two. (Live Scorecard)

West Indies had a lot to take from the First Day. The openers laid a strong foundation but couldn't take the innings deep. Kavem Hodge and Joshua Da Silva took things in their own hands and tired out everyone from the Aussie side in the second session. They put up a strong stand and put up a good score on the board, reaching their half centuries along the way. In the third session, they lost a couple of wickets but Alzarri Joseph took the aggressive route and took the bowlers to the cleaners. The Day ended with his wicket. Today, they will hope to put as many runs on the board as they can. Hopefully the weather stays clear and the rain gods don't interrupt proceedings. The action on Day 2 starts in a bit.

The hosts had a tiresome first day on the ground. After a very strong first session, they were frustrated by Kavem Hodge and Joshua Da Silva in the second session. With the new ball available halfway after the third session, the Aussies struck a couple of times and bounced back in the game. Mitchell Starc was the standout performer with four wickets which included his 350th Test scalp as well, and he will be eying for a fifer here. Now, they will hope that they bowl out the visitors and come out to bat in the first session itself.
