Atlanta season 3: How to watch Donald Glover series in UK

Donald Glover’s hit comedy drama has finally landed in the UK after a delay following its US release. The third season of the award-winning show first aired in the US on March 24, with episodes being then released weekly after a double bill was first shown.

Thankfully they’ve done the reasonable thing and put the entire third season there to watch from the get go after months of waiting for it to reach these shores. It felt like a nostalgic theatrical release in which the US always got to see things much sooner than we did in Europe.

If the early reviews are anything to go by, expect boundaries to be pushed and the bar raised once more as Glover moves from mere actor and comedian, to full on auteur artist and director.

While ostensibly about a rapper, Paper Boi, living in Atlanta (played by Brian Tyree Henry) and his manager Earn (played by Glover), the series tends to smartly examine much bigger issues such as race relations and drug use, all the while maintaining an element of comedy that runs beneath its surface.

Season 3 of Atlanta is now available to watch in its entirety on Disney Plus, with all 10 episodes appearing on the streaming platform on June 29. The runtime of the episodes are all about 30-40 minutes, making a slight increase in length from the previous two seasons – which tended to be around the mid 20s per episode.

Atlanta has moved to Disney Plus having previously been broadcast on the BBC and streamed on the iPlayer, and it remains unclear whether the British broadcaster will acquire the rights to show the programme.
