Athlone form earns Casey Howe player of the month award
Athlone Town attacker Casey Howe has been voted as the SSE Airtricity Women's Premier Division Player of the Month for April.
Two goals in the 3-1 victory over Peamount United showed Howe's quality and importance to Ciaran Kilduff's side who sit second in the table.
The Northern Ireland international has been in superb form and one of her goals against Peamount was nominated for the League of Ireland Goal of the Month.
Howe joined Athlone this season from Sligo Rovers and has had an instant impact after striking up an understanding with fellow attackers Madison Gibson and Chloe Singleton.
Howe topped the voting ahead of Shelbourne captain Pearl Slattery and Cork City ace Eva Mangan.
