Aston Villa training ground reveal proves why Steven Gerrard loves Jacob Ramsey

Former Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton claims Jacob Ramsey can go to 'the next level' under Steven Gerrard.

The 20-year-old has been in fine form this season having scored five goals in 21 Premier League appearances and Hutton believes he will keep developing at Bodymoor Heath after receiving some 'glowing reports' from midfielder John McGinn.

Ramsey has even been tipped to receive an England call-up for the March internationals against Switzerland and Ivory Coast, as reports claim Gareth Southgate is keeping a close eye on the youngster.

And Hutton has been impressed by Ramsey's application and attitude to improving at his boyhood club.

“Obviously I speak to the likes of John McGinn and it’s always glowing reports,” Hutton told Football Insider.

“I mean, he’s [Ramsey] producing not just on the pitch but daily in training. How he looks after himself, he’s got his feet on the ground, he’s not above his station, these sort of things.

“These are what makes you go to that next level because you’re willing to put in the hard graft. It shows on a Saturday or midweek when you play games.

“Everything that I’ve heard has always been positive from the guys.”
