'As of now...' - Romano reveals what he's been 'told' about Dybala amid Tottenham rumours

Noted journalist Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Tottenham Hotspur target Paulo Dybala.

The Argentinian is someone who has been on Spurs’ radar for some time, with the club reportedly deep in the process of signing him back in 2019 only for negotiations to fall apart late on.

It is thought the club remain interested in him, with reports from Spain claiming that Antonio Conte has asked Spurs “to do everything possible to get his contract in the next summer market”, at which point he will be a free agent when his contract at Juventus expires. However, Tottenham aren’t the only club interested in him.

With 113 goals and 48 assists at Juventus, it’s easy to see why he’d be hot property as a free agent, and according to Spanish outlet Sport, Barcelona are a club that have been mentioned as a possible destination alongside the likes of Spurs and Inter.

But speaking on a recent video on his YouTube channel, Romano revealed the latest when it came to a possible move to Camp Nou, claiming that whilst there was some interest in both sides, there was nothing serious going on at this stage in proceedings.

He said: “From what I’m told, it’s normal that his agent is exploring many opportunities and many clubs are exploring the chance to sign Paulo Dybala as a free agent. But at the moment, there is nothing serious, nothing advanced as of now as things stand between Paulo Dybala and Barcelona.

“We know that Barca are being busy with many, many free agents. So everything is in place for Barcelona with some free agents. But with Dybala, at the moment, it’s not in advanced negotiations and it doesn’t seem to be a priority for Barca as of now.

“But Dybala will be on the list of many clubs in the coming weeks.”
