In Ireland's first ever World Cup game they came up just short as a penalty from Australian captain Steph Catley was enough for the hosts to take the win.

Ireland did respond after the goal though and had chances to equalise as Larkin made a real impact off the bench adding pace and creativity to the Irish attack.
