Arsenal will be out to enact revenge on Brentford on Saturday, after the Bees humiliated the Gunners on the opening night of the season.

Brentford shockingly won their first ever Premier League game back in August, defeating Mikel Arteta’s side 2-0 at the Brentford Community Stadium, courtesy of goals from Sergi Canos and Christian Norgaard.

That embarrassing defeat set in motion Arsenal’s worst start to a season in 67 years but the Gunners have since recovered very well and now stand a great chance of qualifying for the Champions League, something that was unthinkable months ago.

A 1-0 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers last Thursday has left the Gunners sixth in the table and two points off the top four, but crucially they have games in hand over their nearest rivals West Ham United, Manchester United and Wolves.

As for Brentford, the Bees currently sit a very credible 14th in the table, but while they are not in any immediate danger of relegation, a run of six games without a win, which includes five straight defeats, has left Thomas Frank’s men under a lot of pressure.
