Arsenal transfer rumours: Record-signing Pepe to lead exodus

Wrapping up the Arsenal transfer news, rumours and gossip in the 2022 summer window. Fulham sign Leno in £8m deal

Fulham have signed goalkeeper Bernd Leno from Arsenal on a three-year contract in a deal worth up to £8m.

The club also has an option to extend the 30-year-old German's stay by a further 12 months.

Leno was Fulham's number one target although the Championship winners did look at Barcelona's Neto and Manchester United's Dean Henderson among others.

The Cottagers will pay £3m up front, £1m depending on appearances, £2m if they avoid relegation and a further £2m if they survive the following year.

Mikel Arteta says Arsenal are not finished in the transfer market yet but could not guarantee whether any more business will be done.

The Gunners are one of the biggest Premier League spenders in this window, with five new players brought in for around £120m.

After Arsenal ended their pre-season campaign with a 6-0 win over Sevilla, Arteta said: "We are still hoping to do something else if the market allows us to do that. You have seen some movement in the as few days as well.

"We want to get the perfect balance and the plan we wanted from the beginning. Whether we accomplish that or not is another story."

Reims are close to an agreement with Arsenal to sign striker Folarin Balogun on a season-long loan.

Mikel Arteta feels Balogun's development would be best served by getting regular football away from the club this season.

Balogun remains a part of Arsenal's long-term plans though.

Arsenal have announced that left-back Nuno Tavares has joined Marseille on a season-long loan.

The left-back joined the Gunners from Benfica last summer and made 28 appearances last term.
