Arsenal transfer news: 'No guarantee' Bukayo Saka will be at the Emirates next season

Transfer insider Dean Jones does not think it is a certainty that Bukayo Saka will be at Arsenal next season.

The 20-year-old came through Arsenal’s academy as a teenager before making his first-team debut in 2019, but Jones is not entirely sure that Saka’s long-term future lies at the club.

Saka’s current deal at the Emirates Stadium runs until 2024, but Arsenal reportedly want to tie him down to a long-term contract, and they have made this a priority as they view him as one of their key players moving forward.

However, it has been claimed that they could have some difficulties in convincing Saka to stay if they miss out on the Champions League for a sixth consecutive season in May.

Jones thinks that a number of teams will want to sign Saka if he becomes available, and he feels that Arsenal finishing outside the top four could lead to the £58.5m-rated winger considering his future at his boyhood club.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Jones said: “From what I know on the Saka situation I don’t think it’s possible to guarantee he stays beyond this season.

“Obviously Arsenal want him to commit but he has to be careful about tying himself down long term if there is no guarantee of Champions League football or clear signs of success on the horizon. There are plenty of clubs that would love to sign him.”

Having risen through the youth ranks at the club, it appears likely that Saka will want to remain patient and try to become a part of something special at Arsenal.

The England international is adored by the club’s fanbase, and has been one of Arsenal’s better performers again this season, scoring six goals and providing four assists in 21 league appearances to date.
