Arsenal's thrilling potential XI as they plan £180m triple swoop for 2022/23 season

Arsenal fans are feeling rather vulnerable after a borderline-disastrous January transfer window.

With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Calum Chambers, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Sead Kolasinac and many more already waving goodbye to Emirates Stadium, the Gunners’ squad depth is now looking thinner than ever.

And with no major signings coming through the door, Gooners are left wondering whether their limited resources – particularly in attacking positions – could curtail their European dreams between now and May.

However, even if that proves to be the case, there’s perhaps good reason to believe that Arsenal keeping their wallet tightly shut for the time being could pay off in exciting ways come the summer.

At least, that’s according to The Sun, who report that the north London are planning the “biggest spending spree in their history” with three major signings that could take their squad to the next level.

It’s reported that Stan Kroenke is keen to show his faith in Mikel Arteta by providing him with a £180 million war chest for the summer window that would allow him to make a major squad upgrade.

In fact, rather excitingly, strikers Alexander Isak and Dominic Calvert-Lewin as well as midfielder Ruben Neves have been identified as the three stars who can take Arsenal to the next level.

If that’s not an exciting triumvirate of summer buys, then we don’t know what is, but the report does offer the caveat that Arsenal will need to secure Champions League qualification to bag all three targets.

And moves certainly won’t come cheap with Isak’s buy-out clause standing at £75 million, while Calvert-Lewin and Neves are valued at £60 million and £45 million respectively.
