Arsenal receive approaches from Barcelona and Juventus for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Barcelona and Juventus have both approached Arsenal over a loan deal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to reports.

The striker has not featured for the Gunners since he was stripped of the captaincy by Mikel Arteta last month following a series of disciplinary breaches.

Arsenal are now open to offloading the 32-year-old, who joined the club in a £56 million deal from Borussia Dortmund four years ago.

According to The Athletic, Arsenal are now in discussions with Barca and Juventus as the two clubs want to sign Aubameyang on an initial loan deal.

Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal have also offered to sign Aubameyang and are willing to cover his £350,000-a-week salary in full, which Barca and Juve could both struggle to achieve.

But it’s understood that Aubameyang is keen to remain playing at the highest level in Europe.

Speaking last week, Arteta turned down the chance to confirm that Aubameyang would be part of his plans going forward.

‘He is in London and now he is going through some examinations because we haven’t had any clarity from the Gabon national team about the reasons why he came back,’ said Arteta.

‘It is our obligation to make sure that medically the player is safe, is in good condition.
