Arsenal pulling for Liverpool transfer to go through, as German media go big on Serge Gnabry claim
Bayern Munich will be far more receptive to selling Serge Gnabry this summer if they sign Liverpool’s Sadio Mane first, and one pundit has insisted there’s “legs” in a Gnabry return to the Emirates.
Mane is expected to push for a Liverpool exit this summer. The Senegalese, 30, has just one year left on his current contract. The Reds don’t wish to lose such an important asset, though Mane’s contract situation puts them in a difficult position.
Indeed, if Mane is adamant he won’t pen fresh terms, Liverpool run the risk of losing him for nothing if they don’t cash in this summer.
Bayern Munich are the primary contender to secure his services at present. Their initial £21m bid was rejected, though they harbour hopes they’ll have better luck with the second offering.
Liverpool want a suitable replacement lined up first, per the Guardian. Serge Gnabry would tick that box, though the Bayern winger, 26, is also a target for Arsenal.
He is in a similar position to Mane with his contract expiring in 2023. Bayern don’t wish to sell, though they’re also unwilling to match Gnabry’s wage demands.

Their claims are relayed by the Sun who note a Mane move to Bavaria will be ‘music to Arsenal’s ears’.
Mane would become an instant starter at Bayern and his arrival could relegate Gnabry to the bench if both were on the books.
Between Liverpool and Arsenal, it is the latter whose need to sign Gnabry is arguably the greater.
The Gunners never replaced Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in January and recently confirmed Alexandre Lacazette will leave as a free agent. Gnabry can operate all across the frontline and would go some way to ensuring Mikel Arteta
