Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp believes Mikel Arteta's decision to give Martin Odegaard the Arsenal captain's armband was a "masterstroke".
Goals from centre-backs Rob Holding and Gabriel delivered a 2-1 victory over West Ham at the London Stadium to give Arsenal's top four hopes a huge boost. Odegaard was handed the captaincy once again after being given the resonsibility following Alexandre Lacazette's recent injury.
And he displayed his leadership qualities again during the win over West Ham – and Redknapp thinks the Norwegian is "almost a manager on the pitch" for Arteta and should be handed the armband permanently.
