Arsenal, Newcastle ‘courting’ soon-to-be out of contract Bundesliga star

Arsenal and Newcastle United are ‘courting’ Hoffenheim midfielder Florian Grillitsch, who is out of contract in June, according to reports.

Ahead of the January transfer window, the 26-year-old was linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

The former Werder Bremen star has been with Hoffenheim since 2017. He has played just short of 150 times for the Bundesliga outfit.

Grillitsch has been in and out of the team this season as he has missed a few games due to illness and injury. His future is in doubt as his contract is due to expire this summer.

Kicker (via Sport Witness) are reporting that Arsenal and Newcastle are among the clubs ‘courting’ Grillitsch. Roma and Napoli are also interested.

‘Another indication’ that the player is eyeing a move is that he is now represented by ICM Stellar Sport. The agency also work with Rob Holding and Jonjo Shelvey.

Elsewhere, Newcastle were linked with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang before his move to Barcelona.
