Arsenal line up huge summer move for Chelsea starlet as Gunners target three signings
Arsenal have added Southampton star Armando Broja to their list of transfer targets with the Gunners desperate to sign a striker this summer.
The Gunners failed in their bid to land Dusan Vlahovic during the January transfer window with the Serbian star instead leaving Fiorentina to join Juventus.
Real Sociedad’s Alexander Isak is reportedly the club’s alternative option – although the Swede is said to only be keen to make the move to north London if Arsenal secure Champions League qualification this season.
While Dominic Calvert-Lewin is another option under consideration, football.london report Mikel Arteta greatly admirers 20-year-old Broja.
On loan from Chelsea, Broja has scored eight goals in just 15 starts this season since arriving on the south coast, tormenting Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane during Southampton’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United on Saturday.
The report adds that Arsenal will seek to make three major signings this summer. With a striker a the top of their list with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah also expected to leave, the club also plan to sign a central midfielder and a right-back.
Reports have suggested Southampton will make a club record bid to sign the Albanian striker on a permanent transfer before his loan ends but Thomas Tuchel has suggested he could still have a big future at Stamford Bridge.
‘He is our player, he is doing good. But at the same time, it is only halfway through the season, so he needs to continue to improve and make his statement at Southampton,’ Tuchel told a press conference in January.
