Arsenal legend Keown claims Spurs ‘look favourites’ for top four
Arsenal legend Martin Keown has suggested that Tottenham Hotspur currently “look favourites” to finish in the top four.
The Gunners sit fourth in the table. They beat Aston Villa 2-0 on Saturday to move four points clear of fifth-placed Man Utd.
Arsenal also have a game in hand over the Red Devils. Tottenham meanwhile are seventh in the table.
Improved Arsenal must show they can roll with the punches
Antonio Conte’s side are six points behind Arsenal having played the same number of games.
The Gunners have some tough matches coming up. They have Chelsea, Man Utd, West Ham and Spurs to play before the end of the season.
Due to this, Keown believes Tottenham are well-placed to finish ahead of Arsenal:
“There are a lot of games ahead. I think Spurs look favourites to actually make it into the top four. Arsenal, I know, they’re in the boss seat now, but you look at the fixtures,” Keown said (via The Express).
“There are games away at Chelsea, Spurs. It’s in Arsenal’s hands – they can do it but there is a long way to go.”
Keown added that Arsenal showed against Aston Villa that they are “resilient”:
“They’re playing with this nice and constructive football, but they’re also resilient. Gabriel at the back was nice and strong with Ben White beside him.
“[Thomas] Partey in midfield never really ventured too far. So, it’s nice in those departments and all over the pitch you have people doing their jobs, who know their roles and responsibilities, with the ball and without, perfect. They get the job done and clear of him with three points in the bag.”
