Arsenal legend Ian Wright responds to cheeky Shaun Wright-Phillips jibe after Man City win

Arsenal legend Ian Wright joked his son and former Manchester City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips is 'so annoying' after he teased his dad about last night's result at the Etihad Stadium.

City took a massive step towards retaining their Premier League crown thanks to a 4-1 victory over the Gunners. Kevin De Bruyne got the Blues off to the best possible start when he opened the scoring with less than ten minutes on the clock.

On the stroke of half-time, Pep Guardiola's side made it two when John Stones headed in a De Bruyne free kick. Initially, the goal was ruled out for offside but the decision would be overturned by VAR.

Man of the Match De Bruyne made it three just after the interval with a neatly taken goal. Rob Holding pulled one back for Arsenal with less than five minutes of normal time remaining but Erling Haaland wrapped up the comprehensive win in stoppage time as City moved two points behind.

Taking to social media after the game, Wright-Phillips could not help but poke fun at his dad who scored 156 goals for the North London side. In a tweet, Wright-Phillips wrote: "Hi Ian Wright, how's things?

"Just checking in... Hope you're okay dad." Wright, who was on Wednesday's Match of the Day, was shown the tweet by Gary Lineker live on air.

In response, Wright replied: "He's so annoying, someone that I taught to wee. I taught him how to wee this boy and now look at him.

"He still can't reach the toilet now." City return to action on Sunday when they travel to Fulham.
