Arsenal injury concern as Bukayo Saka limps off during Manchester United win

Arsenal are sweating on the fitness of Bukayo Saka after he limped off during their 3-1 win over Manchester United.

Saka had to be substituted in the 74th minute as Arsenal boosted their hopes of Champions League qualification with a crucial win at Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta provided an update on Saka’s fitness after the game.

Speaking to BT Sport, Arteta said: "We had four or five with difficulties to make the team before. He was one, White was one, Granit had an eye issue, Eddie hasn’t played many minutes.

“The boys are doing everything they can to be on the field and I feel lucky."

In his press conference, Arteta then said: "Bukayo was struggling to even start the match but he wanted to start. He had a big knock the other night. Let’s see how he is."

The win over United moved Arsenal above Tottenham into fifth place in the battle to finish fourth.

Arteta said: “A big performance in a game I think had everything.

“Moments where we showed really quality, a game where we had to suffer, a game where there were moments where we were a bit lost and lacking energy, a game where we were really efficient in the boxes, a game where we had luck when we needed it.

“Overall I am extremely happy.”
