Arsenal hold talks with Gabriel Jesus and more Man City transfer rumours

Arsenal have entered the race to recruit Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City during the upcoming summer transfer window - according to reports. Jesus signed for City in 2017 and has made 228 appearances for the club.

During that time the Brazilian has scored 89 goals and laid on 45 assists. However, due to the depth that City boast in attacking quarters, Jesus has only started six games since 2022. Other players in his position include Riyad Mahrez, Phil Foden, Raheem Sterling and £100million man Jack Grealish.

As such, the Brazilian continues to be linked with a summer move away from the Etihad Stadium and it appears as though Arsenal have emerged as contenders for his signature. That comes after Barcelona were credited with plans to submit a bid around the €30million mark when the market reopens.

The Athletic reports Arsenal technical director Edu has already held talks with the player's representatives as Mikel Arteta prioritises a new striker. Everton star Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan have also been linked. Of course, Arteta and Jesus worked together at the Etihad Stadium.

Despite those developments in the Jesus pursuit, though, The Sun argue he still favours a move to Barcelona. They struck up a deal with City for Ferran Torres during the January transfer window.

Barcelona have made several new additions since Catalan icon Xavi took over as manager and it appears as though they will not stop there. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Adama Traore - on an initial loan from Wolves - headed to the Camp Nou in January.

The chase for Jesus comes as City close in on a move for Borussia Dortmund goal machine Erling Haaland.
