Arsenal fans send message to Stan Kroenke after LA Rams win Super Bowl LVI

LA Rams fans were not the only supporters celebrating Sunday’s Super Bowl LVI victory, with large swathes of Arsenal fans now hoping Stan Kroenke – who owns both teams – will turn them into champions too.

The Cincinnati Bengals looked set to win their first Super Bowl only for the Rams to score a late touchdown through MVP Cooper Kupp with just one minute and 25 seconds left on the clock.

That secured a 23-20 victory for the Rams, who became only the second team to win a Super Bowl in their own stadium after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers achieved the same feat last year.

Kroenke has ploughed an enormous amount of money into the Rams, with the SoFi Stadium having cost $5billion (£3.7bn) to build, while they invested heavily and traded away a host of future draft picks in order to build a squad that could win the Super Bowl this year.

As well as owning the Rams, the Kroenke Sports & Entertainment (KSE) company also counts Arsenal among their portfolio and many fans have already seen similarities between how the two teams are run.

KSE put their faith in Rams head coach Sean McVay, who became the youngest coach in NFL history to lift the Vince Lombardi trophy at the age of 36 years and 20 days old, while at Arsenal Mikel Arteta is only a couple of years older.

Having banked the biggest prize in American sports, many Arsenal fans are now hoping KSE and Kroenke will switch their focus to winning the biggest prize in English football.

There were thousands of tweets on social media from giddy Arsenal fans after the Rams’ victory, with one tweeting: ‘Now that Kroenke has the Super Bowl in the bag, he’s coming to take Arsenal to the very top hopefully.’
