Arsenal: Exciting news 'soon' over £104m star at the Emirates

Arsenal will pull off a ‘big win’ by tying Bukayo Saka down to a new Emirates Stadium contract following the closure of the transfer window, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The Gunners have not been afraid to splash the cash, having forked out close to £120million ahead of the fast-approaching deadline.

Saka has entered the final two years of his £33,000-per-week contract, leading to doubts over where his long-term future lies.

However, the winger has hinted that he is keen to head to the negotiating table and hold discussions over a new deal after admitting to feeling ‘at home’ at Arsenal.

It comes just a matter of months after it emerged that reigning Premier League champions Manchester City are closely monitoring developments due to Saka’s contract situation, while Liverpool have also earmarked him as a future target.

Despite the interest, Arsenal have not entertained selling the 18-cap England international during the summer transfer window.

In fact, it is understood that the north Londoners now value Saka at £100million after making himself a key cog in Mikel Arteta’s side.

Jones understands that Arsenal fans will be disappointed after they have failed to recruit a new forward or wide-man in the closing stages of the window, particularly considering they showed their intentions to strengthen in that area of the pitch when they had a bid rejected for Raphinha in June.

However, the transfer insider believes Saka – who is valued at £104million by the CIES Football Observatory – is set to commit his long-term future to the Gunners by penning a new contract and that will boost the fanbase’s spirits.
