Arsenal defender William Saliba could leave for Marseille this summer
Arsenal defender William Saliba could be set to depart the Emirates this summer with Marseille reportedly considering a £25million bid for the defender who spent last season on loan with them.
After his impressive spell in Marseille, the French club are now interested in signing the Arsenal player on a permanent transfer, reported Get French Football News.
At 21-years-old, the southern France team views Saliba as a great investment, with his expected longevity and potential for growth giving them the confidence to make a major offer.
If a deal can be struck between the two clubs then it would challenge Marseille's previous record-breaking capture of Dimitri Payet from West Ham United in 2017.
Loaned to Marseille last summer following a previous spell at Ligue 1 side Nice the year before, Saliba produced countless dominant performances for the club as he helped guide them to a second place league finish and Champions League football.
