The Premier League is the most lucrative league in the world and it’s really starting to dominate other major leagues when it comes to finances.

But with the ever-increasing transfer fees and wages, clubs have had to turn to mega-rich owners in order to help fund their activities.

In Newcastle and Manchester City, the Premier League has two of the wealthiest families in the world in charge of their football clubs.

But neither Newcastle’s Mohammad Bin Salman or Man City’s Sheikh Mansour feature in FourFourTwo’s list of the 10 richest people in English football.

Why?

Because it’s only considering individual wealth rather than collective wealth – or that their worth can’t be confirmed.

Guangchang, owner of Fosun International, took over Wolves in 2016 and has splashed the cash to get them back in the Premier League. They’re now an established side in the top-flight and have enjoyed runs in European competitions thanks to his millions.
