A supercomputer has predicted that Tottenham will beat Arsenal to a top four finish this season, with Spurs just edging the Gunners come the end of the campaign. It comes after a week that has completely changed the balance of the race for Champions League qualification.
Arsenal were thought to be in the driving seat, but with losses to both Crystal Palace and Brighton after the international break, momentum has come to a standstill. Key injuries have also hampered the side, with Kieran Tierney and Thomas Partey’s fitness concerns leaving the side thin and without proper balance.
Discussing the difficult defeat, Mikel Arteta said after the Brighton game: "What happens is we criticise ourselves a lot again. Get slapped again because we deserve it a lot and we were really poor in the first half and then lift ourselves up.
"We know this road is taking ourselves nowhere, especially with where we want to be. We have everything to play for in the last eight games and we have to have that energy and visualise the beautiful challenge that we have ahead and not sit back and see what happens."
