Arsenal 2-1 Fulham: Richards Keys slams 'irritating' Mikel Arteta after win

The Emirates Stadium was bouncing on Saturday evening after Arsenal maintained their 100% start to the Premier League season with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Fulham.

Aleksandar Mitrović capitalised on an error from Gabriel just before the hour mark to score his fourth league goal in as many games and give the visitors a surprise lead in north London.

Arsenal were level within eight minutes, courtesy of an equaliser from club captain Martin Odegaard, but looked set to have to settle for a point as the match entered its final five minutes.

With the clock ticking down, though, Gabriel atoned for his earlier mistake when he bundled the ball past Bernd Leno from an Arsenal corner.

The home faithful went wild – and the volume only increased at the final whistle as the Gunners retained their spot at the top of the Premier League table.

Television cameras captured joyous scenes around the ground as Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta and players celebrated the victory with their ecstatic fans.

Just 12 months ago, Arteta was under serious pressure to resign after Arsenal failed to win – or score a goal in – any of their first three Premier League games last season.

A year later, the Spaniard could hardly be enjoying life any more following his side’s blistering start to the campaign – and it showed at full-time on Saturday.

Arteta had a massive smile on his face as he congratulated his players on their come-from-behind win, making sure to fully soak in the moment with the club’s supporters.

His reaction did not go down well with beIN Sport presenter Richard Keys who slammed the Arsenal boss during the channel’s live coverage of the match, branding him “extremely irritating”.
