Argentina, Nigeria friendly match called off
The international friendly game between world champions Argentina and Nigeria’s Super Eagles billed for March 26 in Los Angeles, USA, has been called off.
According to BBC sports journalist, Oluwashina Okeleji, the game was called off due to the short time to process visas for the Nigerian delegation.
Okeleji said the US promoters for the game have replaced the Super Eagles with Costa Rica.
The friendly game between the Eagles and Argentina was initially billed to be held in China but was cancelled due to a row involving Lionel Messi.
The 2022 FIFA World Cup winner was expected to feature for Inter Miami against a Hong Kong Selected XI in a friendly game.
Messi, however, did not feature in the game which, did not go down well with the fans who had to be refunded by the organisers.
The former Barcelona captain explained that his absence was as a result of an injury.
