Are B&Q, Wickes, Screwfix open over the Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend?

If you plan on spending some of your time hitting the shops this extended bank holiday weekend, you may want to check the opening times for DIY and homeware stores including B&Q, Wickes and Homebase.

Thursday, June 2, is a special bank holiday for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee and the spring bank holiday - usually taken on the last Monday of May - has been moved to Friday, June 3, to create a bumper weekend. People up and down the country will be celebrating the Queen's 70-year reign.

A whole host of street parties, regal ceremonies and parades will be taking place, with a flypast and a star-studded concert taking place around Buckingham Palace. For some people, the extra time off is a good chance to get a head-start on some DIY work.

Some stores are operating different opening hours over the long weekend, although some have stuck to their usual opening times. Here's what you need to know.

Luckily for those hoping to stock up on supplies from B&Q, this store will remain open as usual over the course of the weekend. Find your local store's opening hours here.

B&Q said: “Our stores will remain open as normal across the Queen's Jubilee Bank Holiday and we look forward to welcoming customers to help with all their home improvement needs. Customers are also able to place orders on diy.com for click and collect and home delivery."

Wickes will also be open as for the bank holidays, but with slightly adjusted times. On Thursday and Friday it will be open from 7am until 6pm, while on Saturday its opening times are 7am to 7pm and 10am until 4pm on Sunday.
