Former Captain of the Squash Section of the Ikoyi Club 1938, Dr Olubunmi Apata, was elegant in the courts as he beat the 45-strong field to win the Kaks Projects Squash Rumble, which featured players from across the country.

Udoh Nkana won the prize for playing the highest number of games.

The competition, according to the sponsors, is one of the ways to develop the game of squash and encourage socialisation among players.

Tagged, ‘Let’s go a Rumble,’ the founder/Creative/Project Director of Kaks Multiprofile Services, Mr Oladipupo Arikawe, who also doubled as the Section’s One Day Chairman, stressed the need for members to come together, play together, challenge each other in a healthy and friendly environment. Squash, he said, is a game of life and a life game.

He promised to continue to support the Sectional Management Committee in ensuring that squash is made popular like other sports in the country.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of Squash Section, Semoore Badejo, thanked the sponsors and reiterated the need for members to “know more about each other as a growing family, work towards the upliftment of the game and find common grounds for mutually beneficial relationships.”
