Antony's message to Manchester United fans ahead of pivotal period

Manchester United winger Antony insists the club's fans have a huge role to play ahead of three successive Old Trafford matches over the next eight days.

Erik ten Hag's team host Brentford on Wednesday night hoping to return to winning ways and banish the memories from the reverse fixture in London. Everton then visit off the back of picking up a point against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night thanks to United academy graduate Michael Keane's last-minute equaliser.

United then resume their Europa League campaign at the quarter final stage as Sevilla visit. Ten Hag's team are unbeaten in their last 23 matches at Old Trafford across all competitions, last losing in early September. United are still challenging for silverware in Europe and the FA Cup as well as seeking a top four spot in the league. And Antony feels the supporters can play their part.

“I always say to my friends and family that the fans (at Old Trafford) are amazing, all 73,000 of them,” Antony told United Review. “Manchester United aren’t any ordinary club or ordinary team, not every fan base is like this.

“As I’ve always said, the atmosphere they create is like fuel for us to keep on going. They always help and support us and give us that extra motivation.”

“With a stadium full of fans creating that atmosphere every game, we're motivated even more. Having their support plays a big role as we seek to achieve big things.”
