Antoine Rozner claims comfortable victory as Gary Hurley finishes in top 15 in Mauritius

Antoine Rozner carded a final round 67 to record a five-shot victory in the DP World Tour's Mauritius Open at the Mont Choisy Le Golf in Grand Baie on Sunday, claiming a third title on the European circuit.

The Frenchman had a two shot leading at the beginning of play and started solidly, managing one birdie and five pars in his opening six holes.

He took command around the turn, with an eagle and two birdies, before coming home in a solid level par for his back nine to reach 19 under par.

It gave him his third European Tour title, and the €170,000 winner's cheque that goes with it.

"Unbelievable. It's a tough game. We practise so hard all year long and a win is a win and I’m so glad I got this done.

"It’s so hard to win so I’m just so happy. I didn’t know anything about the scores, I didn’t want to have a look. I knew I was in the lead.

"I knew if I kept playing like this there was going to be no issue at the end but it was so hard.

"I started hitting bad shots so I think with my caddie we did a really good job to stay focused and stay in the moment and not think about the scores and the other guys.

"We did an amazing job today."

Gary Hurley was the best of the Irish, finishing in a tie for 14th after a final round 70.

Three bogeys on his front nine had the Waterford man at risk of slipping outside the top 20, but he shot the back nine in four under 32 to get to two under par.

Tom McKibben had to set for a tie for 40th after final round 72.
