Anthony Martial has given Manchester United three reasons why they can't sell him this summer

It may not seem like it right now but there are still a few reasons for Manchester United fans to smile.

The club worked hard to secure loan moves for some of their disgruntled stars in January, with Anthony Martial one of those to head for temporary pastures new.

The Frenchman starred for Sevilla in their 2-0 win over Elche on Friday night as Julen Lopetegui's side kept up the heat on table-toppers Real Madrid.

His performance combined with United's struggles in front of goal have led to some fans questioning whether he could still have a future at Old Trafford.

Here are three reasons why we believe he deserves another chance.

1. The new manager

We all know that United are expected to appoint a new manager at the end of the season and it would be wrong to sell Martial without consulting whoever is going to take the reins first.

The two names to have been heavily linked with the role are Mauricio Pochettino and Erik ten Hag, both of whom have helped wide forwards flourish throughout their careers.

Martial is a player who needs to have the full confidence of his manager if he's to play to his best and either of the aforementioned bosses could help him return to form.

2. United's striker woes

Ralf Rangnick has already claimed it's "obvious" that United are going to need a new striker in the summer.

Edinson Cavani is expected to leave at the end of the season when his contract expires and Cristiano Ronaldo is struggling to score at the rate he has done for so many years, so it's clear another body is needed in the forward department.

Martial could be that man, especially if he continues to perform well in Spain.
