Ant and Dec apologise over Toni Collette swearing during 'chaotic' appearance on Saturday Night Takeaway as fans ask 'how?'

Hollywood actress Toni Collette got so invested in a fast-paced game on Saturday Night Takeaway she suffered a slip of the tongue. The Oscar-nominated star joined the ITV family show on Saturday night (March 18) as a guest announcer, and she was quickly a hit with viewers as she enjoyed a laugh with hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.

"I love British Saturday night TV," she told them. "And cheeky little British men who never seem to age." The star of The Sixth Sense, About A Boy and The Staircase was then more than happy to step up to help families win a place on the plane to watch the final of the seris live from Universal Orlando.

During the game Saturday Night at the Movies, the Australian actress was tasked with guessing the titles of films while players at home acted them out. But at one point Toni began to struggle and clearly panicked with working out the film Dodgeball.

She blurted out: "I’m gonna lose! s*** somebody help me!" As the show returned after the ad break Ant apologised viewers for the pre-watershed expletive. “Sorry if you heard a little bit of bad language. Hope we didn't spoil it for you," he said.

@d_loughins tweeted: "OMG Toni Collette is so chaotic I cannot believe Ant and Dec didn’t apologise for her saying ‘s***'" but @Danyu118 joked: "If you're getting lairy about Toni saying 's***'. Remember, she's Australian. She's due to drop a 'C bomb' at some point."

@MiSHsWilli agreed: "I know they’ll have to apologise but I wish they wouldn’t. S*** is part of our/Aussie’s main vocab." @staffilad wrote: "Everyone get a life, she said s***.. so f***ing what. What do you say when you stub your toe?"
