Another India lower-order collapse gives England hope of dramatic test win
LEEDS, England :Josh Tongue took three wickets in four balls to give England a fighting chance of securing victory on day four of the first test on Monday, after India were all out for 364 in their second innings, setting the hosts a target of 371 to win.
Just as he did in the first innings, Tongue came to the fore when seeing off the Indian lower order, with the tourists losing their final six wickets for 31 runs after both KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant had earlier hit centuries.
England's task is far from a simple one. Reaching 371 would be their second highest successful test run chase against India, and the second highest at Headingley, more than the Ben Stokes-inspired heroics on the same ground against Australia in 2019.
