Andy Murray beats Hugo Grenier to reach Nottingham Open quarter-finals with seventh win in a row

Andy Murray continued his fine grass form as he beat Hugo Grenier to reach the quarter-finals of the Rothesay Nottingham Open. The former world No. 1 broke once in each set as he secured a 6-3 7-5 win – his seventh victory in a row.

Ad Murray will next face eighth seed Dominic Stricker, who beat Brit Ryan Peniston 6-4 6-2. WimbledonWhen is Wimbledon? What's the schedule? When is the draw?6 HOURS AGO After winning in Surbiton last week, Murray will have his sights on another trophy as he continues his Wimbledon preparations. Murray is hoping to be seeded at the Grand Slam, which would require him to move up 12 ranking spots.

He was strong on serve against world No. 126 Grenier, winning 81% of his first-serve points and not offering up any break-point chances. He also converted both chances he had to break Grenier.

Murray said earlier this week that he is still “loving” playing tennis even though he has been doing so at the second-tier ATP Challenger Tour level recently. “I got a message from my wife on Sunday evening when I was driving here [to Nottingham] and she said, ‘I just was watching Novak [Djokovic] on the news and that he won in Paris.
