Andreas Christensen's contract situation ‘might be unresolvable’ at Chelsea

The contract situation of Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen ‘might be unresolvable’ amid increasing speculation over his future, according to journalist Paul Brown.

Christensen is one of three centre-backs currently on the books of the west London outfit who have entered the final six months of their contracts, with Antonio Rudiger and Cesar Azpilicueta also in a similar situation.

Blues manager Thomas Tuchel told Christensen it was time to “walk the talk” by committing his future to the capital club following protracted contract talks back in November.

The 48-year-old tactician revealed that the 6 foot 2 beast had informed him that he loves Chelsea and that he wants to stay but had not yet put pen to paper on fresh terms, resulting in him being dropped from the team.

And according to German outlet Sport1, Christensen has attracted the attention of Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, who are searching for a successor for Borussia Dortmund-bound Niklas Sule.

It’s claimed that members of the Bavarian hierarchy met with the 54-cap Denmark international back in December to discuss a move and that he is demanding any potential suitor doubles his €100,000-per-week (£84,000) wage packet.

But Munich are set to face fierce competition for his signature. A report in La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Football Italia) credit Inter with an interest in Christensen’s services, stating he is the ‘ideal replacement’ for Stefan de Vrij.

Meanwhile, MundoDeportivo reports that Barcelona are keeping close tabs on the Scandinavian ace’s situation as they are targeting players who are either available on a free transfer or only have one year remaining on their existing deals.
